Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer / System Administrator to manage development tasks and system operations in a full-time, fully remote role. This hybrid technical position bridges software engineering and IT systems support. Responsibilities include developing backend systems, maintaining cloud infrastructure, managing deployments, and ensuring security across all environments. This role is ideal for professionals who are comfortable working in a fast-paced digital environment, possess strong coding fundamentals, and are well-versed in modern infrastructure tools and practices.

Responsibility

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and tools. Deploy, manage, and monitor applications across staging and production environments. Manage Linux/Unix-based systems and ensure infrastructure reliability. Implement and monitor CI/CD pipelines, version control, and system automation. Troubleshoot performance issues across software and system layers. Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), virtual machines, and databases. Perform system updates, backups, and ensure cybersecurity standards are upheld. Document system architecture, configurations, procedures, and code deployments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, and DevOps.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 3+ years of experience in a dual software/system role. Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or Go. Strong experience with Linux/Unix system administration and shell scripting. Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP). Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and access management protocols. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Certifications like AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, CompTIA Linux+, or RHCSA are a plus.

Compensation
Annual Salary: $85,000 – $110,000 USD
Hourly Equivalent: $40.87 – $52.88 USD (based on a 40-hour week)
